The closest airport to Cassis is Marseille Provence Airport (MRS) with just a 45 minute drive. Nice Cote d’Azur Airport (NCE) is also an option, with a scenic drive of about 2 hours and 30 minutes along the coast.

Local Attractions
- Yes, Cassis has several beautiful beaches. However, unlike typical sandy beaches in the U.S., the beaches of Cassis are rocky. For your comfort, we recommend bringing water shoes if you plan to spend some time on the beach.
- Does Cassis have a beach?
- Cassis is famous for its cliffs and shelter inlets called calanques. A boat tour of the calanques, visiting local vineyards, exploring the charming town center or hiking the calanques are reccomended activities. For further information, check out the Cassis Tourism Office.
- What can I do in my free time in Cassis?
- Cassis is quite walkable, and taxis are readily available. Please note that Cassis is known for its hilly terrain, so we reccomend bringing comfortable shoes to explore on foot.
- How do we get around Cassis?
- Guests can rent a car directly at the airport or book a private transfer service. Alternatively, you may take a local train to the Cassis train station, but please be advised that there are no direct routes from either airport to the Cassis station.
- What are the best options for traveling from the
Marseilles or Nice airport to Cassis?
- No, not yet! Now beginning in 2026, visitors from the United States will need an ETIAS Visa Waiver. Please click here for more information.

- Yes, all international visitors need a valid passport to enter France. Your passport must be valid for at least six months beyond your planned date of departure.
